The most precious collection of brooches we've ever come across! This particular brooch features a lady dressed in a purple crinoline, hand-embroidered onto an off-white fabric backing. The brooch is set in a silver-coloured metal frame, with a plastic transparent film protecting the creation. 6.5cm in height. C-type clasp with rotating closure to secure.
In good condition, scuffs and scratches to the metal as expected of a brooch this age. More designs available!
Embroidered and hand-made brooches were popularised during the 'make-do-and-mend' years of world war two and they remained popular throughout the 1940's, 1950's and 1960's. You could also buy kits with threads, pre-printed designs on fabric and the necessary mounts to complete your piece of jewellery.
