The hand-embroidered motif is set in a rope-effect gold-coloured metal frame. C-type clasp to secure.
In good condition, scuffs and scratches to the metal as expected of a brooch this age.
Embroidered and hand-made brooches were popularised during the 'make-do-and-mend' years of WW2, and they remained popular throughout the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. These brooches were sold as kits with threads, pre-printed designs on fabric and the necessary mounts to complete your piece of jewellery. This means each piece is one-of-a-kind & handmade with so much love!
